Can You Get Koraidon In Violet Availability And Pokemon Transfer Options
Players exploring the Paldea region in Pokemon Violet often wonder if they can add the Fighting and Dragon-type legendary Pokemon, Koraidon, to their game. While Koraidon serves as the primary mascot and rideable mount for Pokemon Scarlet, obtaining this ancient legendary in the Violet version requires specific in-game methods or external services. Understanding how version exclusives work helps trainers efficiently complete their Pokédex without unnecessary frustration.
Understanding Koraidon Availability in Pokemon Violet
Koraidon cannot be caught directly in the wild during a standard playthrough of Pokemon Violet. In Violet, players naturally encounter Miraidon as their box legendary and primary traversal companion. To obtain Koraidon within Violet, players must rely on trading with a Pokemon Scarlet player or transferring one from another source.
Trading for Koraidon in the Post-Game
Trading is the most direct method for Pokemon Violet players to secure a Koraidon. In Pokemon Scarlet, players gain access to a second, catchable Koraidon upon reaching Great Crater of Paldea during the post-game storyline. Scarlet players can trade this extra legendary via Link Trade or the Global Trade System (GTS) to a Violet player looking to complete their collection.
Utilizing Pokemon HOME for Transferring
Pokemon HOME offers a reliable route for moving legendary Pokemon across save files and compatible games. Players who own both versions can catch the tradeable Koraidon in Scarlet and move it to Pokemon HOME. From there, the stored Koraidon can easily be transferred directly into the Pokemon Violet system.
Special Events and Code Distribution Options
Occasionally, limited-time distribution events allow players to receive version-exclusive legendaries through Mystery Gift codes. Promotional events hosted at select gaming retailers have previously offered special distributions, such as , providing Violet players an extra opportunity to acquire the cover star. Checking official news channels regularly ensures trainers do not miss out on future promotional code distributions.
